The Other is a dance duet based on instant composition exploring the dynamics of two.

In 2004 Katja Mustonen and Anna-Maija Terävä spent 2,5 months in Prague, Check Republic, in the residency of the North Karelia Regional Arts Council and worked and performed in different places and venues, indoors and outdoors. The two young dancers were exploring the many different possibilities to set oneself in relation to the other. Part of the work was also to share the work in small study group with the local dance artists and experiment with two local musicians. In the end Katja and Anna-Maija came up with a duet based on instant composition, that they performed together with the two musicians in galleries, museums, restaurants, theaters and festivals in Check Republic as well as in Finland and Sweden.
