In the shape of light is a dark and melancholic solo, where Anna-Maija engaged herself with the theme of a funeral.
The work is based on instant choreography in a dialogue with sound created by a musician and sound artist Carl Warwick/Pronefoal.
While working with this work in 2004, Anna-Maija framed her goal like this: “I want to work from the physical understanding of space and time, having curiosity as a guide. I want to try to bear to be in the unknown. I am interested in creative processes, where the expectations could soften and it could be possible to support the individual way of expression. I am looking for collaborations where people can respect each other´s language and still engourage each others to go further from something already well known”
